Josie is a Solicitor in the Private Client team.
Josie works alongside our nationally acclaimed Charities team and our Estates, Tax and Trusts team, to advise national charities, higher education institutions and Universities in respect of protecting legacies due to them. We also continue to defend a number of contested legacies for national charities and other non-profit organisations.
Examples include:
- Successfully defended claims of proprietary estoppel and common intention constructive trust regarding a £1.3m London flat gifted to a national charity, and an Inheritance Act claim brought in the alternative.
- Successfully defended claims of undue influence and improper execution in respect of a Will in which our charity client was the main beneficiary.
Josie is based in our Bristol office but can support you nationally.
